AI operations FAQ
The questions responsible teams ask before they automate work.
A practical, plain-language guide to AI agents, automation, security, change management, and what a STRYQ engagement looks like.
What is an AI agent in business operations?
An AI agent is software designed to interpret context and carry out defined operational work across approved systems. Unlike a single chatbot, an agent can be designed to watch for an event, gather the right context, take permitted actions, and escalate exceptions to a person.
What is the difference between AI, automation, and an agent?
Traditional automation follows fixed rules. AI can interpret unstructured inputs such as messages or documents. An agent combines AI with defined tools, business rules, system access, and an escalation path to move a workflow forward responsibly.
Will AI agents replace my team?
The goal is to remove repetitive coordination, data movement, chasing, and status work—not replace accountable human judgement. Good systems let people spend more time on customers, decisions, and exceptions.
Do we need to replace our CRM, ERP, dispatch, or accounting tools?
Usually no. STRYQ starts with the systems that already hold the important data and designs connections around the real workflow. Replacing a system is only worth discussing when it is itself the bottleneck.
What kinds of tasks are a good fit for AI agents?
Good candidates are repeated, time-sensitive workflows with clear inputs and outcomes: routing requests, checking completeness, preparing follow-ups, summarizing updates, syncing approved information, creating tasks, and flagging exceptions.
What should stay human?
Final decisions involving judgement, financial commitments, safety, legal obligations, sensitive exceptions, and relationship-critical conversations should have clear human ownership. Automation should make those moments better informed and easier to manage.
How do you keep agents from doing the wrong thing?
Systems are designed with scoped permissions, explicit rules, validation checks, approval gates, audit trails, and exception handling. We begin with contained workflows and expand only after the system performs reliably.
What happens when an agent is uncertain?
It should not guess. A well-designed workflow routes uncertain, incomplete, or out-of-policy work to a defined human queue with the relevant context attached.
Is our data secure?
Security is part of solution design, not an afterthought. The appropriate approach depends on your tools, data types, access requirements, and industry. We scope access intentionally, minimize data movement, and preserve approvals where they are required.
Can AI work with sensitive client or financial information?
Potentially, with the right architecture and controls. We assess what information is involved, which systems are approved, who needs access, retention needs, and which actions must remain human-authorized before proposing a workflow.
How long does implementation take?
It depends on the workflow, system access, data quality, and number of approval paths. We start with discovery and an implementation blueprint so scope and sequencing are clear before committing to a build.
How do we know where to start?
Start with a workflow that is high-frequency, visibly frustrating, and measurable: work that causes repeated copying, chasing, rework, delays, or missed follow-through. The solution builder is a useful first step.
What does STRYQ need from our team?
We need access to the people who understand the work, clear ownership for key decisions, approved system access, and timely feedback during validation. We handle the technical build; your team validates how the work should operate.
Can we see what the system is doing?
Yes. A proper operational system includes visibility into status, handoffs, exceptions, and outcomes. Automation should reduce black boxes, not create one.
Can we start small?
Yes. A contained workflow is usually the safest way to establish value, prove governance, and learn what should be connected next.
How is pricing structured?
Pricing is based on the solution scope, complexity, integrations, and ongoing support requirements. STRYQ can scope discrete projects or continuing operational support after a discovery conversation.
